Even if you don't have the dark 5 oclock shadow, like I do not, it makes all the difference in the world between a tight fit and a leaky mask. After shaving, rince your face completely of all soap and slippery contaminants. This leaves the face with a waxy/clingy feel which accepts a well-cleaned cushion perfectly. It's a small price we men have to pay, but oh, is it ever worth it. I totally agree that shaving is an absolute must before using the mask.
