The newest device in the System One platform - the REMstar Pro with AutoIQ - is a CPAP system smart enough to track up to 30 days while delivering breath-by-breath therapy as it learns the sleep apnea patient’s treatment needs. Based on what it learns, it then sets a fixed CPAP pressure. AutoIQ checks back every 30 hours just to see if the therapy pressure it established is still on track. If not, REMstar Pro with AutoIQ automatically adjusts to obtain an ideal CPAP pressure. All without the need to send someone from the care team to patients’ homes. It’s one intelligent sleep therapy solution that is always curiously smart and powerfully convenient.
Introducing the AutoIQ Mode: With two distinct phases – Auto-Trial and Auto-Check – the AutoIQ mode uses the proven Philips Respironics auto algorithm to track and deliver breath-by-breath therapy and set an ideal fixed CPAP pressure. It then reassesses treatment needs periodically and changes therapy pressures automatically – without the need for you to send someone to the patient’s home.
The 30/30 Advantage
Auto-Trial phase:
For periods of three days or more, adding up to a total of 30 days, the REMstar Pro with AutoIQ will provide breath-by-breath therapy while in Auto-Trial phase, using our existing, proven auto algorithm. By learning your sleep apnea patient’s breathing patterns and treatment needs during the trial phase, Auto-Trial is smart enough to then identify an ideal CPAP therapy pressure specifically for that patient. The device will automatically deliver the CPAP pressure that the patient was at, or below, 90% of the time, or a fixed pressure that has been set by the clinician.
- Clinicians can opt to use all 30 Auto-Trial days up front or choose to use fewer trial days and save the balance for a later date if the patient’s condition changes. For example, if you choose to use only seven days of the Auto-Trial phase at the start of a patient’s treatment, you will still have 23 available days remaining should an important change in your patient’s condition occur, such as a significant weight loss or gain.

Auto-Check phase:
Once the ideal CPAP pressure is established, the Auto-Check phase evaluates the patient’s events every 30 hours to determine if a pressure change is needed. There may be no need for an adjustment, so the pressure will remain the same. However, if after 30 hours the device determines that the pressure should be adjusted, it will automatically raise or lower the pressure 1 cm at a time, with an upper and lower limit of 3 cm H2O. Of course, the AutoIQ mode conveniently keeps you informed via EncoreAnywhere, while supporting the best possible attention and care for your sleep apnea patients.
Important Note: This is not an Auto CPAP Machine. It functions as an Auto CPAP during Auto-Trial Phases and switches to CPAP mode during Auto-Check Phase.
