After buying my cpap supplies at our local medical supply office for more than 20 years. They told me they were discontinuing this mask and tried to convince me to move to a cheaper mask with monthly replacement nose pieces. I tried the mask for a few days and absolutely couldn't get any sleep. I also researched the costs difference. Unbelievable.
I bought two masks with head gear and tubes for less than my previous supplier charged me for just one mask.
I have gotten great service from the CPAP Shop. There was a small problem with shipping, but my phone contacts have been very pleasant and the service excellent. I am one very happy new customer.

We know that finding a real unbiased review is very important. Because of this, we spend hours talking to customers to better understand their likes and dislikes for a particular mask. Our review for the Respironics Profile Lite Nasal Mask with Headgear:
The Profile Lite is a staple in the Respironics line of masks. Although many people still use the Profile Lite, it is losing popularity due to the more advanced and comfortable masks on the market. The gel, which is soft and pliable, easily adapts to facial features. Although the forehead pad provides good support, it tends to cause a pressure sore in the middle of the forehead. The key is to always have spare gel pads and not synch the mask too tightly. Another issue is the inability to replace the cushion once it becomes too soft. Once the cushion fails, the entire mask must be re-purchased.
Overall, the Profile Lite is a decent mask but newer, more comfortable masks are available from Philips Respironics. If you are looking for a new Philips Respironics nasal mask, we would recommend the Easylife or Fusion over the Profile Lite.

I have tried numerous masks and had been unhappy with all of them until I ran into this one at a sleep conference. I tried it with reluctance and was amazed with how well it worked. I have been using this mask for the past 4-5 years and have to give it an A rating.
The only drawback to this mask is that it lasts 6-8 months on average before the gel begins to break down and the mask must be replaced. Also I have found that after about 3-4 months the small forehead pad needs to be changed out in order to prevent a sore from developing.
Still I would say this is the best nasal mask on the market. I know the company has supposedly improved on the gel masks but I am reluctant to try something different when this one works so well. Only advantage to changing may be the ability to replace the gel inserts when they beging to break down.
The profile lite is a definite winner and in my estimation an A rated product.

While the mask is comfortable, the nasal cushion can't be replaced. The forehead piece can, which is nice. If something ever happens to the nasal cushion, I'll have to replace the mask, which is a big drawback.
