Philips Respironics Battery Backup Video
Connecting the Philips Respironics Dream Station Battery As Backup
In this video, Chris Vasta, president of The CPAP Shop explains how to easily set up the Dream Station machine to accept battery power – or how to set it up so that the battery will kick into action if the power goes out, providing a battery backup. In the under 2 minute video he connects the machine to the new Phillips Respironics travel battery via a power cord that comes with the battery, to a color coded port in the side of the CPAP machine. The battery is lithium ion, weighing only 2.5 lbs, and is FAA approved for airline travel. A simple one-cable connection is all it takes to power the CPAP machine from the battery.

The battery comes with an 80-watt power supply and can be used to both recharge the battery and to set up a battery backup system in case your electricity goes out. In this case, one end of the power supply plugs into the back of the battery and the other end is a regular wall plug that fits into the electrical outlet. If used as a battery backup, power flows from the wall outlet into your machine via the battery. If power goes out in the middle of the night, the battery will continue to run your machine. If you want to recharge the battery, there is a one-cable connection to a wall socket that easily takes care of the job. It takes roughly 3-4 hours to recharge the battery, and there is an indicator light that indicates the status of the battery’s charge.
The battery also comes with adapters so that it can be used with any PR System One CPAP machine.

Additionally, Chris reviewed the features on the new Philips Respironics travel battery in a separate video. The battery can be used with all Dreamstation, System One, BiPAP, AVAP and ST machines. It can also be used for a Trilogy ventilator machine with an adapter kit. The battery provides more than 14 hours of run time for a CPAP device at a pressure of 10 with no heated humidifier attached. The battery will run 20 hours for a CPAP machine on a pressure of 8 without a heated humidifier attached. The battery comes with a compact travel pouch that holds the battery, cables, power supply and adapters.
The battery has a 6 month warranty and is FAA approved for air travel.

how long does it last with humidifier attached?
Hi Rosa, it is not recommended to use a humidifier with the battery. The humidifier will vastly decrease the run time of the battery.
will this battery work on a Renmstar machine?
Hi Brian,
This battery will not work with the RemStar. The Freedom Travel battery will work with this machine. https://www.thecpapshop.com/freedom-travel-cpap-battery-bundle

Can the battery be plugged up to the cpap machine with the heated humidifier attach. Can it be used with the humidifier attach.
Hi Derron,
the battery should not be used with the humidifier as it will drain it very quickly.
