Philips Respironics Battery Backup Video
Connecting the Philips Respironics Dream Station Battery As Backup
In this video, Chris Vasta, president of The CPAP Shop explains how to easily set up the Dream Station machine to accept battery power – or how to set it up so that the battery will kick into action if the power goes out, providing a battery backup. In the under 2 minute video he connects the machine to the new Phillips Respironics travel battery via a power cord that comes with the battery, to a color coded port in the side of the CPAP machine. The battery is lithium ion, weighing only 2.5 lbs, and is FAA approved for airline travel. A simple one-cable connection is all it takes to power the CPAP machine from the battery.

The battery comes with an 80-watt power supply and can be used to both recharge the battery and to set up a battery backup system in case your electricity goes out. In this case, one end of the power supply plugs into the back of the battery and the other end is a regular wall plug that fits into the electrical outlet. If used as a battery backup, power flows from the wall outlet into your machine via the battery. If power goes out in the middle of the night, the battery will continue to run your machine. If you want to recharge the battery, there is a one-cable connection to a wall socket that easily takes care of the job. It takes roughly 3-4 hours to recharge the battery, and there is an indicator light that indicates the status of the battery’s charge.
The battery also comes with adapters so that it can be used with any PR System One CPAP machine.

Additionally, Chris reviewed the features on the new Philips Respironics travel battery in a separate video. The battery can be used with all Dreamstation, System One, BiPAP, AVAP and ST machines. It can also be used for a Trilogy ventilator machine with an adapter kit. The battery provides more than 14 hours of run time for a CPAP device at a pressure of 10 with no heated humidifier attached. The battery will run 20 hours for a CPAP machine on a pressure of 8 without a heated humidifier attached. The battery comes with a compact travel pouch that holds the battery, cables, power supply and adapters.
The battery has a 6 month warranty and is FAA approved for air travel.

I have a 2012 Philips Respironics System One REMstar Pro CPAP with C-Flex + and a humidifier. What battery is suitable please? I understand I need to turn the humidifier off.
Hi Richard, we suggest the Portable Outlet Battery. You can find that item here –
I have a Philips Respironics DreamStation CPAP. I have a Freedom CPAP Battery Kit Model FD.1.KIT. Can this battery be used with the DreamStation?
Yes, the Freedom can be used with the Philips Respironics DreamStation. However, the DreamStation has been recalled by the manufacturer due to issues with the interior sound abatement foam. We recommend you discontinue use and register your device here: https://www.usa.philips.com/healthcare/e/sleep/communications/src-update

My cpap machine is several years old. It is a Philips respironics REMstar c flex +, my husband’s is the same except his is an A flex. What kind of back up battery should we buy? Thanks! -LInda
The Portable Outlet Rechargeable CPAP Battery would be the best option we have in our inventory. However, the humidifier will need to be turned off.

Hello, I have a Philips Respironics Dreamstation Heated Humidifier and am wanting to do some camping, can you tell me what would be a suitable battery back up for this? Thanks!
The batteries we carry are not intended to be used with a humidifier. You would want to get a deep cycle marine battery wiht he cables to connect it to your machine in order to use the humidifier.
Thanks!
I currently have a Philips dreamstation coupled to a Philips backup battery connected to mains power. However when I use the CPAP machine I am getting a message that says the device attached does not support the humidity chamber. Accordingly I’m just wondering how to setup this correctly to allow this heating chamber to work correctly.
The batteries we sell for the Philips Respironics Dreamsation are not intended to be used in with the humidifier. YOu would want to turn the humidifier off or disconnect it.
I received a Medstrom Pilot 12 lite battery backup for my bipap machine (Philips Dreamstation Bipap AVAPS) and was told it is not suitable as I have a ventilator on my machine. Which battery should I be using, I need it because of numerous power outages in the rural area in which I live.
Hi Brian,
Great question. Unfortunately, the Medistrom Pilot 12 will not work with your current BiPAP, correct. Please contact our customer care team at 866-414-9700 to determine the best battery for your current set-up.
Hello! I have a Philips Respironics REMstar Auto A-Flex (System One). Could you tell me the best battery backup to purchase for this model? Thank you!
With your Philips Respironics SystemOne Auto CPAP machine you can use the Freedom battery or the Medistrom Piolt12 battery. https://www.thecpapshop.com/freedom-travel-cpap-battery-bundle Or https://www.thecpapshop.com/medistrom-pilot-12-lite-cpap-battery-for-respironics
