Philips Respironics DreamWear Full Face Mask Review

November 21, 2019 | CPAP Reviews & Ratings |

When it comes to delivering CPAP therapy, our customers prefer a mask that is minimal, non-invasive, and accommodates for their sleeping habits. The goal is to comfortably sleep through the night without constantly waking up to adjust the straps or fix a leak. This is particularly important for full face CPAP masks. This Philips Respironics DreamWear Full Face CPAP Mask review shows why the mask is a popular choice.

What is the DreamWear Full Face Mask?

The hallmark of the DreamWear line of masks is an innovative design that allows users to switch between full face, nasal, or gel pillow cushions as their needs change. This versatility has made the DreamWear Full Face CPAP mask the best option for anyone whose CPAP mask needs vary from night to night.

Key Features of the DreamWear Full Face Mask

The Philips Respironics DreamWear Full Face CPAP mask is less bulky than its competitors, allowing for a more comfortable sleep. The light, flexible silicon frame leaves no red marks on the bridge of your nose. Plus, the adjustable headgear comes off easily when you need to get up in the middle of the night. With a top-of-head hose design, users can sleep in any position—including side or stomach—and actively move over the course of the night.

Benefits of Using the DreamWear Full Face Mask

The most significant benefit of the DreamWear Full Face mask is the interchangeable cushions. This allows users to interchange between full face, nasal, or gel pillows on any given night depending on your needs (ie, nasal congestion, sore pressure points, etc). So, if a user has heavy nasal congestion, they can use the full face mask option. For higher pressure settings, switch to the nasal cushion. You decide based on your needs.

How does the DreamWear Full Face Mask Compare to its Competitors?

The DreamWear Full Face CPAP mask ranks high for important features.

DreamWear Full Face CPAP Mask Design

Along with the versatile universal frame design, the DreamWear CPAP mask also delivers airflow through the frame which helps users sleep more comfortably. A sizing guide is available for adjusting the mask cushions for a small, medium, medium wide, and large fit. For the best results, use the smallest cushion that fits your nose. The medium mask can generally be adjusted to fit most faces comfortably.

Intended Use

The Philips Respironics DreamWear Full Face CPAP mask is designed for a single patient (>66lbs/30kg) CPAP or bi-level therapy.

Storage & Disposal

Store the DreamWear Full Face CPAP mask at temperatures ranging between -4° F to 140° F (-20° C to 60° C) with a relative humidity of 15% to 95%, non-condensing. Check your local regulations for proper disposal.

Is DreamWear Full Face Mask Comfortable?

The combination of the top-of-the-head tube connection and the lightweight silicone frame gives users the freedom to move around throughout the night and sleep comfortably in any position they prefer. The airflow through the frame allows for even distribution of air, even if sleeping on your side. And lastly, the minimal under-the-nose design is unobtrusive and allows for an open sight of vision to wear glasses, read, or watch TV.

Cushion Comfort

The innovative mask design allows any of the interchangeable mask cushions to fit comfortably. Because only the cushions change, the mask comfort remains consistent.

Headgear Comfort

The headgear keeps a secure, comfortable fit throughout the night while keeping the tube out of the way regardless of your sleeping position.

What are Customers Saying about DreamWear Full Face Mask?

“This is by far the best mask that I have ever used.” – Review by Pam P on 2/18/2019

I have tried a dozen different mask and this one is by far the best. I’ve only had it for a few days, but I have been able to keep it on most of the night (which is a first for me), it does not leak (also a first), the small footprint makes a lot more comfortable than others. I have been trying to use the CPAP machine for several years, this is the first time I have hope for some long-term success!”- Review by Rick on 12/24/2018

“I think I’ve tried every mask out there! I’ve really been trying to adjust to CPAP therapy, but it hasn’t been easy. Finally, I found the DreamWear mask, but had to wear a chin strap. It was still the very best I’ve tried. I am so happy to see they came out with a full face mask!”– Review by Vickie on 11/2/2018

“This product saved my life!”- Review by John on 5/20/2018

Are there foam cushions for dreamwear full face masks? Thanks

  • Pat

Can you use a small frame with a medium full face mask? I love the dream wear coal. It was the perfect one for a side sleeper and someone a little claustrophobic. It’s time to replace some parts. I’ve noticed that the tubing is not a snug fit on the base machine anymore. Is there anything to do about that?

    • Chris Vasta

Hello, Pat. Yes, you can purchase the small frame for the Dreamwear mask for $42.00. That item can be pulled up on our site with the SKU 1116746. Please note that if you order the mask bundle it will come prepackaged from Philips Respironics with a medium frame. If the tubing is not fitting to the machine snuggly it would be best to get a new tube.

I’m looking for the original headgear from Philips. I have the F&P Simplus ML headgear, it doesn’t seem as good quality as the Philips headgear I originally started out with on my Phillips Dreamweaver Full Face Mask bi-pap machine. Can you direct me to the headgear from Philips? I’m not locating in my search. Thank you

  • Janie

What is the Gauss rating of the magnets? I have a pacemaker although it only triggers 25% of the time. Local medical supply store would not give me this mask because of the pacemaker. I consulted the pacemaker tech and it needs to be less than 50 Gauss. A fridge magnet is 100 gauss. Thanks for your help. I really want to have the hose connection at the head and be able to wear glasses.

    • Chris Vasta

In the User Guide for the Philips Respironics Full Face mask it states “The magnetic clips in this mask should be kept at least 2 in. (50 mm) away from any active medical device with special attention to implanted devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and cochlear implants”. For the Gauss rating please contact Philips Respironics. The manufacturer can be reached at 1-(800)345-6443.

Switching from the Amara view to Dreamwear full face. Havent tried it yet but it seems very comfortable but NO QUICK RELEASE ! Can you get a message to Phillips ??

  • Carolyn

I’ve been a CPAP user for just over a year. I am a side sleeper, restless sleeper and a mouth breather. I started with the full mask over the nose but found it uncomfortable, leaky and it left face marks. I then tried two different soft pillow under the nose masks. Both had severe leaks due to side sleeping. With all of these, my scores were in the high 80’s to mid 90’s. I now have the DreamWear full face mask. It is very comfortable and I do not feel so claustrophobic, as the mask is not cover my nose. My scores have been in the high 90’s and 100. Never achieved 100 until now. I love this mask!

    • Chris Vasta

Hello, Carolyn. Excellent, it is good to hear that the Philips Respironics Dreamwear Full face mask is working out well for you. We wish you continued success with your CPAP therapy.
