Key Features of ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP Machine

The ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP machine makes the process of getting started simple. One of the machine’s best features is its ability to sense changes in your breathing and adjust the CPAP pressure without you having to tell it to do so.

  • Integrated heated humidifier
  • Heated tubing (optional upgrade)
  • Connected Care (built-in wireless technology)
  • SmartRamp technology
  • Low noise levels
  • User-friendly interface, LCD screen and front-facing display

  • AirSense 10 For Her has a different algorithm that is designed specifically for women.

In this video we also discuss the ResMed AirSense 10’s various parts and how easy they are to remove and customize. Our sleep expert discusses how each part works how the machine stacks against competition.

Benefits of Using ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP Machine

With ResMed’s integrated heated humidification system, users will experience improved comfort during CPAP therapy. Users have the ability to adjust the humidification to a level of their choosing to optimize comfort. The addition of the ClimateLine heated tubing unlocks the potential of the machine’s climate control setting—allowing users to control the temperature of the air pressure they receive.

The ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP is also virtually quiet with an operating volume of 27 dBA. This means minimal or no interruptions to your sleep. With a weight of only 2.75 lbs, the AirSense 10 is perfect for both at-home and on-the-go use.

Disadvantages of Using ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP Machine

Some users have cited the built-in humidifier and removable water chamber as a disadvantage to the ResMed AirSense 10, as it adds to the machine’s footprint. If you do not currently use a humidifier with your CPAP machine and are looking at the AirSense 10, learning how to adjust or turn off the humidifier settings will be key. Additionally, a side plate cover can be purchased to replace the water chamber which further reduces the size of the machine.

Types of ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP Machines & Their Differences

ResMed’s AirSense Series of CPAP devices are uniquely designed for streamlined set-up, WiFi connectivity, and compliance management and monitoring processes. The AirSense series is also intuitive, very user-friendly and offers a smaller bedside footprint than other devices with a front-facing screen.

Here is a list of the various versions of the AirSense 10 CPAP machine, as well as the features they offer:

Can You Use with a Humidifier?

The ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet CPAP machine comes with a built-in humidifier that cannot be removed. If you do not wish to use the humidifier it can be turned off or a side plate cover can be purchased.

I have been using the ResMed Airsense 10 cpap for about a year. I really like it. BUT is has begun to whistle loudly. I know it is not the mask, nor tube, nor even the water tub as it whistles when the unit is turned on even while none of those things are attached. It is so loud it wakes both me and my husband. I’m trying to find a troubleshooter to see if we can get this fixed as there is no way we can afford a new one. I’m beginning to regret this purchase.

    • Chris Vasta

Hi Debbie, most times, when CPAP machines tend to make a “whistle” sound is when the accompanied parts are not hooked up correctly or are worn out. Ensure your masks fits on your face properly, and equipment like the hose is not worn out. Read this blog post to learn more about what to do when your CPAP machine whistles. Call us at 866-414-9700 with any questions.

  • Crystal O. Plummer

My Airsense 10 has begun making a “whistling” or sort of a “screeching” sound. I have never had this problem before. It makes the sound when I inhale and stops during exhales. I have cleaned the machine extra well and replaced the tube, water chamber and filter. Any idea what is happening???

    • Chris Vasta

Hi Crystal, most times CPAP machines make a “whistling” noise is because there could be a hole in your tubing letting air out. Since you replaced your tubing, another problem may be your mask does not fit properly. Read this blog about CPAP machine whistling to learn more. If you are still having trouble, give us a call at 866-414-9700.

  • Harrison R Ramey

Moisture forms in the hose then wakes me up it just started doing this last night it happened twice

    • Chris Vasta

Hi Harrison, moisture in the hose could come from your humidifier settings being too high. To fix this, use a heated tube to help counteract the moisture, or simply turn down your humidifier settings.

  • EJ Castro

I have been using CPap for five years with another brand. Just had this machine 5 days ago. I noticed that the water chamber is still at the same level in the morning even if I used at night. I developed nasal drip & sneezing. I stopped using it to see if it is the one causing it. I tried using it again after 2days to see if there will be a change. The water level didn’t even change. It is the same level when I filled it up that night. Can feel the dryness in my nose & throat. Can you tell me the reason why. It won’t help me if I’m not comfortable using it.
What can I do with this problem?

    • Chris Vasta

Hello EJ, if there is sufficient humidity in the air already, the machine will not produce the moisture. However, you can go into the settings and increase the level of humidity manually if you need more.

  • Kelly Perez

I am having a terrible time with the velcro on the headgear, 1 it is not long enough to the point that as it stretch’s the velcro is no longer on the material also the velcro stops working in general.

    • Andrew Rivenbark

Hi Kelly, depending on how old your headgear is it may be time to replace it. It is generally recommended to replace headgear every six months or so. If you have any additional questions, feel free to call our customer care team at 866-414-9700. Hope this helps!

  • Marlene B. Metcalf

I am having bad trouble with the head gear velcro not staying fastened the velcro is not hardly long enough or maybe the cloth part is not fuzzy enough.

    • Andrew Rivenbark

Hi Marlene, sorry to hear about the troubles you are having with your headgear! Feel free to give our customer care team a call at 866-414-9700 to discuss the issue with your mask and potential solutions we may be able to help with!

  • Laban Bergeron

My second water bowl is leaking. Design flaw? Cheap materials?

    • Chris Vasta

The water chamber comes into contact with the heated plate of the humidifier. Therefore, the manufactures recommends replacing it about every 6 months. If you still have concerns regarding that item, please call in to speak to one of our customer service representatives at 1-(866)-414-9700.
