Respironics DreamStation CPAP Unveiled
Last week we unveiled the DreamWear nasal mask from Philips Respironics. This week, we are announcing the newest CPAP machine from Philips, which has received excellent reviews from OSA patients who volunteered to test the machine.
The DreamStation arrives in a travel case with a padded shoulder strap. Inside the case are the following items:
- 6 Foot heated tubing
- 6 Foot non-heated tubing
- User manuals for the machine and heated humidifier
- 80 Watt power block and cord
- DreamStation Machine and heated humidifier (the humidifier detaches)
Features of the new machine include:
- Color display
- Swivel tube connection
- One button release to detach the humidifier
- Easy release and cleaning of the humidifier chamber
- Heated humidifier has adaptive mode which senses the room temperatures and adjusts the humidification and heat – also has a pre-heat setting
- Ambient light
- Ultrafine filter (disposable)
- Film filter (washable)
- SD Card records information about patient’s sleep therapy
- “My Info” screen provides AHI, Mask Fit, Periodic Breathing, and Sleep Progress as morning reminders
- Extremely quiet and vibration free
- Bluetooth wireless technology pairs the machine to a mobile device with DreamMapper App
Three Models Available:
- CPAP – standard fixed pressure set
- CPAP Pro – standard fixed pressure set
- Auto CPAP - auto adjusting to a range of pressures as patient sleeps
- Also BiPap Machines are available
- All models come with “Easy Start Ramp” up the pressure feature which makes it easier to fall asleep OR the normal “Opti Start Ramp” for the seasoned CPAP user
- DC Battery available for portability
The Dream Station is very user-friendly and has a sleek, modern design. The optional battery makes it highly portable, and the patient reminders are very helpful in improving therapy.
