CPAP Travel Machines

Philips Respironics DreamStation Go with Heated Humidifier

One of the biggest and most anticipated upgrades in 2019 is the addition of a heated humidifier to Philips Respironics DreamStation Go. Travel CPAP machines have been this year’s bestsellers and for good reason. They are small, compact, and powerful—delivering the same CPAP therapy you need on-the-go.

Of the travel CPAP machines, the DreamStation Go is a CPAP user favorite. It is a small (5.9” x 5.9” x 2.3) and lightweight (under 2 pounds) portable travel CPAP that has less than 1/3 fewer parts to pack than comparable units. And the power supply is built into the unit so there is no big power block to carry around! Even the tubing is 58% smaller and can still connect to any type of CPAP mask. The device meets all FAA requirements for air travel.

Soon, Philips will be releasing the highly anticipated DreamStation Go integrated heated humidifier. The humidifier will have a minimalist design and integrate seamlessly into the DreamStation Go unit similar to the optional integrated battery. Comfort on the go just got significantly better!

CPAP Masks

New CPAP products for 2018 include the mask-less DreamPort by Bleep

The Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution

“We give a bleep about sleep.” With a tagline like that, you know your sleep is paramount. The brainchild of sleep technologist and sleep apnea patient Stuart Heatherington, RPSGT, the Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution is the first to take the mask out of CPAP mask. Designed to be ergonomically accommodating, this is a one-size-fits-all solution.

This innovative new mask which is drawing plenty of buzz substitutes standard headgear with adhesive strips that connect to the outside of the patient’s nose. High-quality, hypoallergenic surgical tape attaches two small breathing ports in place throughout the night. These DreamPorts meet at the nostril but are not inserted, making them less invasive than nasal pillows. DreamPorts are disposable to prevent build-up of bacteria.

DreamPorts are flexible to accommodate any size or shape of nose. The design promises no slips or leaks, ensuring only air from your CPAP enters your nostrils as you sleep. And with no headgear, the user wakes up each morning with no lines or red marks on their face!

The lightweight design allows for increased mobility and comfort and less claustrophobia. It can accommodate most nighttime sleep habits, including back, side, or stomach positioning. And the DreamPort Sleep Solution is compatible with most existing CPAP devices on the market.

Nebulizers

Flyp Portable Nebulizer

Flyp

A truly revolutionary product, Flyp, the world’s first HypersoniQ powered, a unique, pocket-sized portable nebulizer! Flyp is the lightest and smallest nebulizer to be cleared by the FDA. In fact, it is smaller and lighter than a smartphone. And it is simple to use—just fill, click, and breathe. The device is FDA-approved for use with any medication intended for general purpose nebulizer, such as albuterol, ipratropium bromide, cromolyn sodium, and budesonide, in addition to other medications. Flyp should not be used with hypertonic saline.

Flyp works with an internal disk with 4-micron holes that vibrates at an ultrasonic speed of 110,000 times per second. Liquid medication pulls through the holes and converts into a fine, inhalable aerosol. With metered-dose inhalers, only about 10% of your medication reaches your lungs. In comparison, with Flyp, 88% of albuterol and 90% of ipratropium bromide reaches your lungs.

While other nebulizers can take up to 20 minutes to dispense 3 mL of medication, Flyp takes only 7 minutes to complete that treatment. And it is whisper quiet! Flyp can last up to 10 treatments per charge and is rechargeable via USB. The warranty lasts for three years.

Flyp recently won top honors at Medtrade’s New Product Pavilion Providers’ Choice Awards.
