The Best CPAP Masks of 2018

When it comes to the best CPAP masks of 2018, we prioritize comfort and performance above all. Our customers are looking for masks that are comfortable, minimally intrusive, and effective. This year’s list features masks that are lightweight, offer a clear field of vision, some come with a multiple size kit for an easy fit, and work with most machines. As always, we prefer our customers make knowledgeable decisions. But if you have any questions concerning which mask might be most appropriate, we are only a phone call away!

Respironics DreamWear Nasal CPAP Mask

DreamWear Nasal Mask

The DreamWear and the DreamWear family of masks has become the go to masks for fit, comfort. and effectiveness. This DreamWear Nasal Mask features a unique under-the-nose placement that is designed to direct airflow through the frame. This gives CPAP users the ability to sleep comfortably and unrestricted. Imagine all the benefits of a pillow mask without inserting anything in your nose! This system eliminates red marks on the face or discomfort and irritation in the nostrils or on the nose bridge.

The DreamWear Nasal Mask features an elbow on the top of the head, unlike most masks that connect the longer tubing in the front. This keeps the hose away from the face and opens up a clear line of sight to watch TV or read a book. It also gives the user flexibility to sleep comfortably in any position, whether it be stomach, side, or back. The design keeps the CPAP user from being tangled and prevent the mask cushion from shifting and leaking.

The Respironics DreamWear Nasal Mask is compatible with any CPAP or BiPAP machine, except the ResMed AirMini auto travel CPAP, and any tubing.

ResMed AirFit F20 Full Face Mask

ResMed Airfit 20 Mask

Although a full face mask is not for everyone, the ResMed AirFit 20 Full Face Mask is a highly worthwhile choice for those looking for a full face mask. With comfort and performance as the top priority, ResMed’s AirFit F20 features the InfinitySeal silicone cushion. This adaptive technology fits to the unique features of each face to improve comfort and fit while reducing leakage. The cushion has varying thickness to ensure a stable fit. The top section has a softer area to stay on the nose bridge. The middle section has increased supportive side padding. The under-cushion is flexible to ensure a good seal. The bottom cushion contours with a soft lip envelope.

A soft and flexible frame with integrated padding surrounds the InfinitySeal cushion. This minimizes red marks and allows you to move through various positions at night while maintaining a reliable seal. The frame sits underneath the eyes allowing for a clear line of sight for anyone who wants to read or watch TV in bed. Finally, magnetic clips fit the headgear for a secure fit and easy release.

A soft, flexible tube interconnects the elbow to the machine tube, which allows patients to move easily without tube drag of leakage. The Resmed AirFit 20 Full Face Mask works with any CPAP or BiPAP machine and will connect to any CPAP tube.

Fisher & Paykel Simplus Full Face CPAP Mask

Fisher & Paykel Simplus Mask

The Simplus has been around for a few years but continues to be one of the best performing full face masks. With a simple three-part design, the Fisher & Paykel Simplus Full Face Mask focuses on comfort, seal, and easy use. The key components include the RollFit Seal, ErgoForm Headgear, and Easy Frame.

  • The auto-adjusting RollFit Seal is a single piece that rolls back and forth on the bridge of the nose. This minimizes pressure on the bridge of the nose while creating an effective, comfortable seal. The seal incorporates the advanced Air Diffuser, keeping the noise and draft to a minimum.
  • The ErgoForm Headgear features stretch and non-stretch breathable panels designed to provide support and structure for optimal use and performance. The headgear self-locates high on the rear of the head. This allows for maximum head movement, both side-to-side and up-to-down, without dislodging your mask.
  • Finally, the Easy Frame is a one-size-fits-all, low profile frame that is stable, durable and small, offering a clean line of sight. The frame comes with an Easy Clip frame attachment to simplify assembly after cleaning.

The Fisher & Paykel Simplus Full Face Mask works with any CPAP or BiPAP machine, except the ResMed AirMini auto travel CPAP, and will connect to any CPAP tube.

Respironics Amara View Full CPAP Mask

Only a few years old, the Amara View continues to gain wide popularity. This lightweight version of the Amara Gel Full Face Mask is user-friendly. The mask has only four parts: a one-piece frame, cushion, headgear, and flexible short tube. The unique modular design of the mask uses a one-size-fits-all frame to which a small, medium, or large cushion can easily attach with one-click. Overtightening of the headgear should not be needed, eliminating red marks or irritation on the bridge on the nose. The headgear and mask remove the need for forehead assembly. This opens a clear line of sight for you to comfortably read or watch TV in bed.

The cushion should fit securely around the mouth, allowing for positive pressure in the nose. No part of the cushion is inserted into the nose. Instead, the top of the cushion has an opening that gently rests against the nose.

The Respironics Amara View Full CPAP Mask works with any CPAP or BiPAP machine, except the ResMed AirMini auto travel CPAP, and will connect to any CPAP tube.

ResMed AirTouch F20 Full Face CPAP Mask

ResMed AirTouch F20 Mask

The first ResMed mask to use the proprietary UltraSoft memory foam cushion technology, the AirTouch F20 Full Face Mask is designed for comfort and performance. UltraSoft is a 30-day memory foam cushion that contours to each face to deliver a light, breathable fit regardless of therapy pressure. The QuietAir diffuser vent technology works by breaking up exhaled air so that it spreads out lightly. The mask is 89% quieter and 70% gentler than before! And best yet, maintenance is fast and easy. No soap and water needed! Unlike silicone cushions that need to be washed daily, the memory foam cushion cannot be washed and instead should be wiped daily with an alcohol-free wipe. The foam cushions should be replaced every 30 days.

The under-the-eye frame offers additional stability and less facial contact. The headgear connects to the mask frame with magnetic clips that are easy to lock in place and remove the next morning. Lastly, the modular frame design allows you to easily switch between the AirTouch F20 memory foam and the AirFit F20 InfinitySeal cushion—two great options in one mask!

The ResMed AirTouch F20 Full Face is compatible with any CPAP or BiPAP machine, except the ResMed AirMini auto travel CPAP, and any tubing.
