Philips Respironics DreamStation BiPAP AVAPS Machine with Humidifier

Philips Respironics announced a voluntary recall for Continuous and Non-Continuous Ventilators (certain CPAP, BiLevel PAP and Ventilator Devices) due issues related to the polyester-based polyurethane (PE-PUR) sound abatement foam used in these devices. The majority of devices affected are in the first-generation DreamStation product family. For further recall information, click here.

The CPAP Shop is working with Philips Respironics to address affected inventory that may be part of this voluntary recall. We have currently suspended sales of all DreamStation Go and DreamStation Auto machines. The ResMed AirCurve Bipap is available for reserve and is not impacted by the Philips recall.

Digital Auto-Trak is an automated breath triggering, cycling and leak compensation algorithm that adjusts ventilation to the patient’s natural breathing patterns. Digital Auto-Trak adapts breath triggering and cycling as the patients disease progresses and helps to eliminate the need for manual adjustments.

Receiving adequate humidification should be among the chief concerns of sleep apnea patients since humidification can eliminate the negative side effects of therapy. The humidifier attached to the Philips DreamStation will monitor the temperature and humidity of your surrounding environment and then maintain optimal humidity levels during sleep. With this humidification system  you wont have to worry about nasal congestion, dryness, sore throat or other undesirable effects. The included heated tube reduces rainout and controls the air temperature for a more personalized humidification process.
