Respironics Backflow Prevention Valve

Protect your valuable CPAP or BiPAP machine with this genuine Respironics Backflow Prevention Valve. This small, spring-loaded device acts as an essential safeguard, automatically preventing water or oxygen from flowing back into your machine when it is turned off. By creating a one-way barrier, it ensures your device's sensitive internal components are protected from accidental damage caused by fluid or gas backflow.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Automatic Machine Protection: This valve works as a smart guardian for your device. When the machine is off, the valve's spring seals shut, preventing any backflow. Any excess fluid or gas is safely vented out of the side ports.
  • Uninterrupted Therapy: When your therapy is active (at pressures of 2 cm H2O or higher), the valve automatically opens to allow air to flow seamlessly through the circuit to your mask, without affecting your pressure settings.
  • Universal 22mm Connections: Designed for broad compatibility, the valve features standard 22mm connections on both the inlet and outlet sides. It connects directly to your machine's outlet port and accepts a bacteria filter or standard CPAP tubing on the other end.

Important Note

This product is a safety valve designed to protect your machine. It is not an exhalation port and does not vent exhaust gas during therapy. It must be used in conjunction with a mask that has a separate exhalation vent.

Why do I need a backflow prevention valve?
This valve is especially useful for users who use a heated humidifier, supplemental oxygen, or both. It protects the motor and other internal parts of your machine from accidental fluid or oxygen damage.
Does this replace the exhalation port on my mask?
No, this valve is not an exhalation port. You must use a mask that has its own built-in exhalation port for venting exhaled air.
