Stelo Glucose Biosensor Overview

Dexcom’s Stelo is an over-the-counter personal glucose biosensor that provides a real-time look at glucose levels for individuals interested in learning more about their health. This 24/7 wearable continuous glucose monitor tracks how food, physical activity, and sleep can impact sugar levels. The data, especially as it trends over time, gives users the opportunity to better understand the impact of their health and lifestyle choices and how adjustments can improve their overall well-being.

Stelo is an easy and affordable addition to any wellness portfolio. Approximately 90-25% of people diagnosed with diabetes have Type 2 diabetes. For these individuals, the body does not produce enough insulin or can become resistant to insulin over time. For people with prediabetes or Type 2 diabetes who are not currently on insulin, Stelo is a must-have health tool.

Stelo does not require insurance or a prescription.

Simple and Accurate Tracking

Continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) are smart sensors that poke through the skin to provide real-time tracking and analysis of users’ glucose levels. Stelo is worn on the back of the upper arm and lasts for up to 15 days¹ before needing to be replaced to provide uninterrupted monitoring with no maintenance. Its durable design has the highest waterproof rating of any glucose biosensor, ensuring dependable performance even while sweating during exercise or showering. Note: Stelo does not provide any alerts or warnings for low sugar levels. Instead, by providing full-time data, the goal is to improve your life through better lifestyle choices.

Proven, Industry-Leading Technology

Stelo is built using Dexcom’s industry-leading CGM technology, allowing users to easily track their current blood sugar levels and monitor glucose spikes. The Stelo biosensor provides a deeper understanding of what glucose is, what it does for the body, and how it can be positively or negatively impacted by food, the timing of meals, exercise, and sleep. By tracking and analyzing your individual data, individuals can make better daily choices that improve their glucose health and overall body wellness. These daily insights can be particularly useful for adults who have diabetes and do not regularly check their blood sugar levels with fingersticks.

Advanced Insights Using Generative AI

Dexcom has integrated with Google’s Gemini models and its Vertex AI platform to offer more valuable and personalized insights to users using the Stelo biosensor. These advanced features gives users customized weekly reports about their glucose and also provides actionable insights and knowledge that not can improve overall body health.

Dexcom will soon use this generative AI to deliver real-time feedback for better daily data and incorporate predictive technology to identify future problems.

Stelo has also partnered with the Oura Ring and app to integrate glucose data with vital sign, sleep, stress, health health and activity data from the Oura ring. With both products, users will have a more complete picture of overall health.
