How To Clean & Maintain Philips Respironics DreamStation CPAP Machine?
While CPAP therapy is important for getting a good night’s sleep and feeling well-rested, using a dirty or damaged CPAP can adversely impact your health. Be sure to follow manufacturer recommendations for regularly cleaning your CPAP mask. Replace cushions and headgear regularly to maintain a secure fit and avoid leaks.
The DreamStation CPAP comes with ultra-fine and pollen filters. The ultra-fine filters are disposable and should be replaced monthly. The pollen filters can be rinsed and reused. Be sure to let them dry completely before reinstalling them in the machine and replace them every six months or so. The filter compartment can be found to the right of the display panel. Simply lift the flap and slide the filters in or out.
If you are using the DreamStation humidifier, wash the water chamber regularly with warm water and mild detergent to remove any bacteria buildup. Let it dry completely prior to installing the machine. Do not exceed the max fill line when using the humidifier.
If the exterior of the DreamStation CPAP becomes dirty, make sure it is disconnected from any external power source prior to cleaning. Use a damp cloth to wipe it down and plug it in when dry.
