Philips Respironics DreamStation CPAP Machine
The award-winning design and innovative engineering of the Philips Respironics DreamStation CPAP machines have revolutionized CPAP therapy. Smarter, simpler, and compact, the DreamStation CPAP stands apart from competitors with features such as flex comfort, SmartRamp, and enhanced heated humidification.
Comfortable C-Flex Technology
The Philips Respironics DreamStation is a fixed pressure CPAP machine. That means that the air used to keep an individual’s airway open flows at one continuous pressure. Sometimes, this pressure makes exhaling uncomfortable for the user, and can even cause them to give up on CPAP therapy altogether.
With C-Flex technology, the DreamStation offers users the ability to reduce discomfort during exhalation. When the CPAP detects an exhale, the machine will reduce air pressure by a fixed amount, allowing the user to breathe more comfortably. On the next inhale, the machine will provide the prescribed pressure setting. The C-Flex level can be adjusted in the “My Setup” menu by turning the knob to navigate and pressing the knob to make a selection.
SmartRamp Helps New CPAP Patients
Some CPAP users, especially those just starting out, may find it difficult to get accustomed to therapy. The ramp feature begins therapy with a lower air pressure setting. As you begin to go to sleep, the ramp will gradually increase that air pressure setting until you reach your prescribed pressure. With the ramp, individuals may have an easier time falling asleep with CPAP therapy and may remain more compliant over time.
The SmartRamp feature on the Philips Respironics DreamStation CPAP device detects respiratory events during the ramp process. If users experience an apnea, the SmartRamp technology automatically modifies the air pressure to help minimize the event. Once the apnea has passed, SmartRamp readjusts to your prescribed pressure setting—all while you sleep comfortably!
Other Features & Benefits
As with the DreamStation Auto CPAP, this fixed-pressure device has been engineered for quiet performance. Operating at a noise level slightly louder than a whisper, both you and your bed partner will sleep soundly without noisy motors. And with daily mask leak reports and a mask fit check, the DreamStation will help you find the perfect seal, avoiding noisy leaks, and providing effective therapy.
All Philips DreamStation machines offer the same sleek design, with a front-facing, full-color display to easily view your sleep data. The backlit screen even automatically dims in darker rooms and brightens in well-lit settings. Simple controls such as the on/off button, ramp button, and menu navigation/selection knob make using the DreamStation a breeze.
Bluetooth connectivity allows individuals to sync their device with the DreamMapper mobile app, which provides even more sleep insight, resources, and tips to help improve therapy. With the sleep reporting feature, you can even send sleep reports to your doctor wirelessly.
Eliminate CPAP Side Effects with a Heated Humidifier
Add the optional heated humidifier to your DreamStation CPAP machine to help manage unpleasant symptoms such as dry throat and nose. The heated humidifier infuses your CPAP therapy with warm, moist air to keep throat and nasal passages from drying out. Let the DreamStation monitor and automatically adjust to ambient humidity to provide the most comfortable CPAP experience available.
Power
The Philips Respironics DreamStation comes with an AC power supply for use at home. Simply plug the machine into a known, working electrical outlet to get started. If traveling, be sure to have the correct adapter for the country you are visiting.
An optional DC power cord is available for the DreamStation and can be plugged into an automobile cigarette lighter or backup battery source. If using battery power, the DreamStation will not be able to use the optional humidifier as the power draw is too great.
