Why Was ResMed AirSense 10 CTC Introduced?
The new ResMed AirSense 10 CTC includes all the same features as the original AirSense 10 model, with one exception. With shortages that have occurred over the last several months, ResMed had to be innovative in creating new ways that sleep data can be tracked, stored, and shared. That's why they created the AirSense 10 CTC with an SD card instead of building in wireless connectivity. This high-tech benefit, the card-to-cloud functionality, allows all sleep data to be stored in an SD card and then shared directly with doctors for them to review.

ResMed AirSense 10 APAP vs ResMed AirSense 10 CTC vs ResMed AirSense 11
Dimension
All three ResMed AirSense CPAP machines are roughly the same size, which is not very big. They offer a compact design that fits easily on any nightstand and is fairly lightweight. The AirSense 10 and AirSense 10 CTC are both the same size. The AirSense 11 is only slightly larger but features a sleeker-looking design. As all the machines are about 10 inches in size so they are also fairly easy to pack in a suitcase, even though they are not travel CPAP machines.
Power Output
All three ResMed AirSense CPAP machines have an AC power output capacity, which makes them easy to use with most home or hotel electrical outlets, so they can be used at home or on the road. The exception is the AirSense 10 which offers both AC and DC power outputs, allowing for more versatile use when an AC outlet is not available. For users who rely on both AC and DC power sources, the AirSense 10 would be the best choice.
Design
The ResMed AirSense design is consistent across all three AirSense CPAP machines. The AirSense 11 has a somewhat shorter and sleeker profile, but all of the machines offer a front-facing control panel and display with an integrated humidifier on the side. Controls for all three CPAP machines are accessible and user-friendly. Connection for hoses is simple to find and most users like that they can see the display at a glance on the LED illuminated screen.
Humidification
The integrated humidification is an excellent design feature that ResMed has incorporated into these CPAP machines that reduces the overall footprint of all three AirSense models. The water chamber is easily accessible and offers a clear view of water volume without the user having to check any settings. The heated water, especially with heated tubing provides a soothing benefit for users who suffer from rainout or side effects of CPAP therapy such as sore throat or nose.
Battery Backup
When a power source is unavailable, all three machines offer optional battery backup capabilities. The backup battery is sold separately but comes in handy when staying compliant when away from home. This feature makes the AirSense models ideal for travel, even though they are not necessarily travel CPAP machines. Check to see what backup power supplies work with ResMed CPAP machines to ensure you have compatibility. The Medistrom Pilot-24 Lite CPAP Battery Backup Power Supply works with ResMed CPAP machines.
Start-Stop Feature and Touch Screen
Touch screen capability makes it easy to adjust your CPAP machine and the start-stop feature allows the machine to begin therapy and end therapy automatically without user intervention. The ResMed AirSense 10 and 10 CTC do not have a touchscreen but do offer the start-stop feature.
The AirSense 11 has a touchscreen which makes changing settings simple and intuitive. The AirSense 11 also features the useful start-stop feature. If both a touchscreen and the start-stop feature are important to your nightly CPAP therapy, then the AirSense 11 is the best choice.
Data Sharing and Software Updates
Sharing your sleep data with your doctor is a useful feature that can be found on all three AirSense models. Maintaining regular software updates is also important and can be found on these three models. The ResMed AirSense 11 also has other high tech benefits like Care Check-in for free coaching and assistance and personal therapy assistant to help you start therapy, along with data share and software updates.
If you do not need all the bells of whistles of a high-tech APAP machine, then the AirSense 10 is a low-tech option. The AirSense 10 CTC allows storing your sleep data on an SD card and able to be uploaded to doctor's software after review.
